Giran: “I’ve got two options for you. First is a slightly smaller car, not enough seats for all of you, so someone’s going to have to sit on someone’s lap— the engine also stalls sometimes.”

Tomura: “… and the other one?”

Giran: “It’s a nice car. It’s big enough to seat all of you, drives fast, has heated seats— there’s just one thing though…”

Tomura: “What?”

Giran: “The radio is stuck on the country music station.”

Tomura: “…”

The league all sitting in the smaller, shittier car. Twice is sitting on Dabi’s lap.

Dabi: “Why the hell didn’t we take the bigger car?”

Tomura: “I’ve been through a lot of shit in my life. Abuse, neglect, loss, manipulation, pain, trauma, death… but there is no way in hell I will ever subject myself to country music.”

The rest of the league: “Understandable.”

I've been working as a waiter for less than a month and I went from "I love jin guangyao but he did commit many crimes and has to pay the consequences" to "tbh he deserves to kill some people".

I'm not even having such a bad time, but when I have a bad customer or a rude one and I have to act nice and smile at them oh boy, I get it.

I even respect him even more because after all the public service job he had to do when he got into a position of power he changed the system to help the lower class (creating the towers). If he got to kill some rich assholes in his way that's on them. Next time be nicer to workers because you never know if one of them is planning a revolt (actually just be nice to workers in general).

I’ve seen lan xichen get a lot of flack and even called a bad brother for like. Not immediately believing wwx and lwj when they tell him about jgy but I feel like he was being perfectly reasonable—exceptionally reasonable, even, bc I know damn well that if MY little brother came up to me and was like:

“Hey my back-from-the-dead boyfriend who everyone thinks is evil says that actually YOUR boyfriend is the evil one and the only evidence he has is a song that he allegedly heard and immediately memorized while in the memories of your other dead friend but you gotta believe us xiongzhang i swear”

My response would probably be to smack him. It certainly wouldn’t be:

“Well you believe YOUR boyfriend—who’s been dead for 13 years and everyone thinks is evil—but I believe MY boyfriend friend who has been actively doing good deeds in that entire time and who saved my life after the cloud recesses burned. But ykw. I’ll hear you out AND protect your boyfriend in the meantime.”

I'm grumpy forever that CQL never explained the temple's significance and took away the statue looking like Meng Shi (on account of the statue being too stylized to look like ANYONE, which has to be a deliberate choice because this was not true with the Dancing Fairy statue earlier)

BUT

I do like that it's still there in spirit with the blocking choices, because as JGY tells the "not worth mentioning!" story, he keeps his gaze on the statue the entire time. He starts by addressing Jin Ling, but then he turns away from everyone and
